Fame Without Character For me, the value of an artist lies not merely in a good voice, a good performance, fame, or wealth. An artist is truly valuable only when, in addition to their art, they also possess human character. However, sometimes people become so immersed in their fame that they forget whom they owe their position to. Bülent Ersoy is one example of this; it is worth mentioning that I have never admired her because of her fame. Of course, my problem is not that she is different. Everyone has their own lifestyle. The problem arises only when this difference leads to behavior that fills the person with arrogance. From this perspective, the recent incident at Bülent Ersoy’s concert is incomprehensible to me.
